We have achieved many successes during our 51 years of independence. One of the most significant is the wide usage of our national language, that is Bahasa Malaysia.
The recet debate between Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (Secretary-General of party DAP) and his predecsssor Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tse Koon (Acting National President of party Gerakan) shown to us one important scenario of current Malaysian life, that is the use of the national language to articulate important issues that may bring tremendous impact in our daily life.
The two gentlemen, both being Malaysian of Chinese descent spoke the national language to bring out their opinions and views in an impeccable manner that even the native speakers (Malays) of the language might not have done.
We all the audiencec of all races were well impressed their mastery of the language to argue their points.
